The Relational Check-in and Tune-Up: A Living Practice for Couples

I don't believe most relationships struggle because of a lack of love, it's often because they lack clarity, they're miss-communcating, and struggling to keep their connection alive. Life is far too short to be miss communicating and bouncing in and out of connection and disconnection, especially with our supposed lovers and partners - it is possible to love well and remain strong and stable with heart and tenderness.

The Farside Relational Check-in and Tune-up is a structured reflection tool designed to help couples really sit on the same side of the table and consciously tend to their relationship. It explores shared values, emotional safety, recurring patterns, practical alignment, and long-term direction, in a very clean and simple (hopefully also enjoyable) way.

Disclaimer: Both partners must be willing to work together on their relationship.

This living practice offers a rare way to share what’s working, what’s misaligned, and what needs extra care and attention - before resentment builds, seeds of doubt are planted or disconnection deepens - and without judgment, blame, critism or any undertones being a part of the relational dynamic.

Used regularly, this can become a ritual of relational stewardship rather than a response to crisis. This isn't something to simply complete once and forget.

Return to it:

  • During calm seasons

  • During transitions / liminal times

  • Throughout the year or once a year

  • Whenever one or both of you feel adrift

Your answers will change. You'll both change. My hope is that you'll be achieving true relational growth, season by season and year after year - and strengthen your love, communication and bond with each other.
